Day 1) Kathmandu – 5* Hotel
Arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan Airport – airport pick up and hotel transfer. There will be the opportunity for exploration of the ancient city in your own time. Briefing in the evening at 6pm for the long trip ahead and introduction to and familiarisation with your dirt bikes. You will receive duffel bags for re-packing – your own suitcases can be left with us in our office.
Day 2) Gorkha: 3* Hotel
This morning there will be a brunch to fuel ourselves before setting out on the bikes in the late morning. We’ll begin venturing outside of the Kathmandu valley towards Gorkha, the land of the Gurkhas. We leave the beautiful mountain highway to travel upwards towards Gorkha and recuperate in the fresh air and with a warm welcome from Gorkha Gaun Resort. 146km
Day 3) Pokhara: 4* Hotel
Back on the highway today – there will be some great views of the alpine scenery as we head along road, but if you want to take it in, make sure to stop your bike first as you never know what’s round the corner when riding in Nepal! It’ll be hot as the road takes us down into the river valley. Arriving in Pokhara will be a spectacular experience, it’sa tourist town like no other. The mountains lie before your eyes with the white and glistening peaks reflected in the waters of Lake Phewa around which the town sits. There will be time for a boat ride to the lake’s temple and to say some prayers to guide us safely on our way to Muktinath. To get to our hotel tonight we have to go on a raft pulled across the lake by a rope. Fishtail Lodge is in a unique location situated on a peninsula on Lake Phewa, a scenic base for a short stay in the town. 112km
Day 4) Tatopani: Lodge
Now we’re really getting into the mountains, and we’ll start hitting the dirt tracks, which of course are no problem on our bikes. You’ll get amazing views of the Annapurna range of mountains all along the way so make sure your cameras are charged today. Kali Gandaki Gorge is the deepest gorge in the world, which we’ll be riding beside and through. This is an amazing and dramatic ride as there’s waterfalls to pass by and caves to spot. The climate becomes more and more like a high-altitude desert and is likened to the high Tibetan plateau. We’ll enjoy the natural hot springs this evening to rejuvenate ourselves for the mountain ride the next day. 124km
Day 5) Muktinath – Marpha: Lodge
This is the big day where we’ll be heading to the ultimate destination in Nepal – Muktinath, which is the name of the temple where people pray to achieve Mukti, or enlightenment. There are 108 freezing cold water spouts which if you run through them will cleanse you of all your sins! We’ll ride back down to the picturesque white-washed village of Marpha to rest for the night and have their famous apple juice and apple pie . 50km
Day 6) Muktinath
Day 7) Tatopani: Lodge
We head back swiftly today, as awaiting us are hot springs to relax in for the rest of the day. Going back the same route, you won’t be tired of the amazing ride and the scenery of the Kali Gandaki Gorge and the Annapurna mountain range around you. 76km
Day 8) Pokhara: 4* Hotel
Once back in Pokhara you’ll be glad for a bit of comfort again at Fishtail Lodge. If there’s time this afternoon, Pokhara holds many attractions, including the World Peace Stupa, the International Mountain Museum and the unforgettable sunset from the top of Sarangkot hill. 100km
Day 9) Gorkha: 3* Hotel
We explore more mountain roads and small villages as we return along the valley towards kathmandu
Day 10) Kathmandu: 5* Hotel
Today we’ll be back on the Prithvi Highway all the way to Kathmandu, this will be a fantastic and chaotic ride as we’ll try and make it back before sunset. Many twists and turns and every now and then a broken section lay ahead for us to enjoy. 204km
