This tour combines all the best coastal destinations in Southern California to make a great getaway adventure! For eight days ride up and down the California coast visiting quaint towns and unique destinations. Start in Los Angeles and ride to San Luis Obispo, a town surrounded by wine country. Climb the winding roads of PCH as you ride into Monterey for two days. With two days you can experience the best of Monterey! Ride to San Simeon to explore Hearst Castle and watch the Elephant Seals sunbath. Travel to Santa Barbara by coast or mountain roads and eventually end your tour back in Los Angeles.

Arrive at Los Angeles International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight.


Day 2 Los Angeles to San Luis Obispo – 195 miles

Today pickup your bike and start your coastal adventure alongPacific Coast highway self-drive motorcycle tour, Los Angelesone of the most scenic coastal roads in the United States! From Los Angeles ride north through Santa Monica and Malibu for a glimpse into Southern California’s beach life. In Malibu be sure to stop at Neptune’s Net for some great seafood! After Malibu continue until you reach Santa Barbara. Once in Santa Barbara you can either continue along the coast or head inland on the San Marcos Pass. Continue pass Santa Maria and finally to your overnight destination, San Luis Obispo.

After a night in San Luis Obispo hop back on Pacific Coast Highway and continue your coastal adventure! Take a quick stop in Morro Bay just north of San Luis Obispo for a quaint maritime town. From Morro Bay ride through Cambria for a small town filled with antique shops and great pie! The further north you ride the road begins to twist and turn making for a truly amazing ride. Ride through Big Sur and Point Lobos State Reserve until you reach Monterey, the northern most point in your adventure.


 Day 4 Extra Day Monterey 0 milesPacific Coast highway self-drive motorcycle tour, Monteray

Today you have an extra day to explore this charming maritime town. Stroll along Cannery Row and visit the many restaurants, shops, and bars this Monterey icon has to offer. Originally a hot spot of the fish cannery industry, Cannery Row is now a hot spot for travelers from around the world. Be sure to also visit the Monterey Aquarium located next to Cannery Row. Another option is to hop on your bike and explore the surrounding area. If you are a fan of motorsports the Laguna Seca Raceway is located just outside Monterey.

After two nights in peaceful Monterey it’s time to ride south back to Los Angeles. However, you still have a few days before the end of your adventure! Continue on Pacific Coast Highway until you reach San Simeon, your next overnight stop. Just before you reach San Simeon there is an Elephant Seal vista point that is a must see! Watch the Elephant Seals relax and run around the beach before ending your ride. If you have time be sure to visit Hearst Castle for a Central Californian icon.


 Day 6 San Simeon to Santa Barbara – 235 milesPacific Coast highway self-drive motorcycle tour, Santa Barbara

Today you have a couple options to ride to your hotel in Santa Barbara. The first is to take a break from the ocean and ride inland through the valleys and mountains of Central California. This option combines rolling hills, farmland, vineyards, and mountain roads into a spectacular riding day. The second option is to stay along the coast until you reach Santa Barbara. If you ride along the coast check out Montana De Oro State Park just south of Morro Bay for an amazing view. Continue your ride south and be sure to stop in Solvang for a traditional Dutch themed town. Finally ride into Santa Barbara for you overnight stop.

Today enjoy one last day on the open road before retuning your bike in Los Angeles. As you leave Santa Barbara ride through Ventura and Oxnard and hop back on PCH. If you did not stop by at the beginning of your adventure be sure to get some great seafood at Neptune’s Net. Once in Malibu ride the California Coast Mountains on Mulholland highway or continue along the ocean until you reach our EagleRider LAX location.


 Day 8 Los Angeles departure – 0 miles

Today your Southern California trip will come to an end with Pacific Coast highway self-drive motorcycle tour, Los Angelesyour departure flight back home.

A deposit of £300 per bike is required if you book your tour more than 24 weeks before the tour starts. 50% of the tour price is required to be paid 24 weeks before the tour starts and the balance paid 12 weeks before our Pacific Coast Highway self drive motorcycle tours alternate route starts.
